Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to enable environments to be recognized with high accuracy while suppressing calculation costs. In the present invention, a method for accumulating measurement data is set on the basis of the drive mechanism of an autonomous vehicle, the movement performance of the autonomous vehicle, a surrounding environment, or the content of a task. For example, an assessment is made as to whether it is necessary to accumulate data in three dimensions, and, when it is assessed that such accumulation is not necessary, a setting is made such that data is accumulated in two dimensions. Additionally, for example, the resolution of data accumulation in three dimensions is set for each axial direction among three axes, specifically X, Y, and Z, or in accordance with height.
