Abstract:
Provided are an information processing device and method that make it possible to determine, without performing a costly field survey, an installation position for a radio wave reflecting member so that radio waves with a predetermined power can reach a target reception point positioned outside the line of view from a transmission point for radio waves in a high-frequency band. The information processing device: on the basis of map information of an area of interest, sets a plurality of radio wave propagation paths involving single reflection between a target reception point, positioned in an area outside the line of view with respect to a transmission point for radio waves in the area of interest, and the transmission point; estimates reception characteristics at the target reception point with respect to each of the plurality of radio wave propagation paths; selects the radio wave propagation paths in decreasing order of reception characteristics at the target reception point to calculate a total value of the reception characteristics; and, on the basis of the result of selection of one or a plurality of radio wave propagation paths that have been selected before the total value became higher than a predetermined target quality, determines an installation position for the radio wave reflecting member.
