The present disclosure relates to an information processing device and information processing method, and a program with which further enhancement of entertainment properties can be achieved. A play situation recognizing unit recognizes a game play situation. An effect drawing unit executes image processing for adding an effect to an image which represents an appearance of a player playing the game on the basis of the game play situation recognized by the play situation recognizing unit. For example, a game status is displayed, which indicates prescribed information according to a game play situation, at a prescribed point on a game screen of the game, and the play situation recognizing unit recognizes the game play situation by performing an analysis on the game status. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a moving image distribution service which distributes a moving image on a game screen.
