Abstract:
When a user performs a product search in order to purchase a product, the user often cannot navigate to the product the user desires to purchase (hereinafter referred to as the product desired to be purchased) by entering a word or phrase into a product search engine, for reasons including the fact that the user does not know the formal name of the product, or has forgotten or does not know any name or the like identifying the product. In order to address this problem, search words that were entered by the user in an attempt to recall a product name are estimated and extracted, and candidate words to be presented are extracted on the basis of the extracted search words, excluding words that are not relevant to the product name or the like that the user desires to recall. This makes it possible to accurately present the product name the user desires to recall.
