Abstract:
This technology relates to an information processing device, an information processing method, and a program that make it possible for a user to certainly and stably perceive surrounding circumstances. In the present invention, the distance and direction of a measurement point with respect to a first position in a first coordinate system are calculated on the basis of: the relative distance and direction, in the first coordinate system or a second coordinate system, between the first position the coordinates of which in the first coordinate system have been determined and a second position separated from the first position and the coordinates of which in the second coordinate system have been determined; relative attitudes of the first coordinate system and the second coordinate system; and the distance, measured from the second position, to the measurement point present in a prescribed measurement direction in the second coordinate system. A notification signal to be presented to a user is generated on the basis of at least one of the distance and the direction of the measurement point with respect to the first position. This technology can be applied to an obstacle notification system that notifies a visually impaired person, etc. of the presence of an obstacle.
