Abstract:
The present technology relates to an information processing device and method that make it possible to adaptively provide partial images of an image for each layer of an image comprising a plurality of layers. This information processing device generates a file that stores, on different tracks: information for an entire base layer of coded data obtained by hierarchically coding image data; information for partial regions of the base layer image; information for an entire enhancement layer of the coded data; and information for partial regions of the enhancement layer image. The present technology can be applied, for example, to an information processing device, image processing device, image coding device, image decoding device or the like.
