Abstract:

Information relating to a specified locality is provided to persons having a high likelihood of actually residing in that locality. When mobile equipment guides the user to a target destination by means of a navigation application, when the target destination is reached, the destination information indicating the target destination is supplied to an information provision application and activates this information provision application. The mobile equipment in which this information provision application has been activated determines whether or not the mobile equipment has become stationary, by using its motion sensor, and starts to measure the dwell time after this mobile equipment has become stationary. Then, if the dwell time has reached a prescribed period, the mobile equipment enquires of the user whether or not the target destination has been reached. If it is thereby concluded that the user has remained at the target destination for a prescribed period, the mobile equipment transmits the target destination information to the server device, so that information regarding shops corresponding to the target destination information can be acquired and this information can be output.
