Abstract:
[Problem] To generate content for which the analysis of the origin of improperly copied content, and the like, is possible and to make it possible for a playback device to carry out proper playback without interruption. [Solution] Content is used that has an individual segment area comprising a plurality of variation data items into which different identification information is embedded and which can be decoded using different keys and a common segment area. The variation data comprises 6144-byte aligned units. The playback device applies a device key to calculate a playback path, selects an aligned unit corresponding to the playback path from the aligned units composing the variation data of the individual segment area, and decodes and plays back the aligned unit.
