Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to achieve a system capable of reliably analyzing a source of unauthorized copies of contents using a content wherein a playback path can be established. The content comprises an individual segment region including a plurality of pieces of variation data having mutually different identification information embedded therein, each variation data decodable via mutually different keys, and a common segment region including a single piece of data. The content configuring variation data via aligned units is set. A content playback device calculates a playback path using a device key, and selects and plays back an aligned unit corresponding to the playback path on the basis of an identifier identifying the variation data recorded in an adaptation field in a plain text region at the top of the plurality of aligned units constituting the variation data.
