Abstract:
If a resource management unit (102) has received a use request for a resource (A) from a second task (101) when a first task (100) is using the resource (A), the resource management unit (102) permits the second task (101) to use the resource (A) after the first task (100) has completed the ongoing process that uses the resource (A), if the second task (101) has higher priority than the first task (100) and the additional time required for the first task (100) to complete the process does not exceed the maximum time permitted by the second task (101). If, on the other hand, the additional time required to complete the process exceeds the maximum time permitted by the second task (101), then the resource management unit (102) immediately permits the second task (101) to use the resource (A).
