[Problem] To acquire compensation for electric power sales easily and in real-time. [Solution] Provided is a settlement method for electric power transaction in which, via a read/write unit which is capable of reading electronic money information by way of contactless communication from an IC card capable of storing the electronic money information or an electronic apparatus equipped with functionality of the IC card or writing the electronic money information to the IC card or the electronic apparatus, immediately after conclusion of an electric power sales contract, electronic money information for an amount corresponding to the amount of electric power sold is written to the IC card or the electronic apparatus.
