In an information-processing device (10) in this information-processing system (1), if a user moves physical objects (120a, 120b) placed in a play field (19), that movement is recognized on the basis of, for example, captured images from a camera (122) that images said physical objects (120a, 120b), and objects that are displayed on a display device (16) and represent corresponding characters (202a, 202b) are moved in conjunction therewith. Also, if the user uses an input device (14) to move said characters (202a, 202b), control signals are transmitted to the corresponding physical objects (120a, 120b) so as to make said physical objects (120a, 120b) move in conjunction therewith. If a state in which it is difficult for the physical objects (120a, 120b) and the characters (202a, 202b) to move in conjunction with each other occurs, an appropriate scenario is selected from among pre-prepared scenarios and executed in order to maintain consistency.
