Abstract:
In accordance with an operation of a user who has purchased a product, a user terminal 20: captures images, respectively, of a receipt handed to the user from a store when he/she purchased the product, and the best-before date or expiration date provided to, for example, a packaging container of the product; and transmits data corresponding to the image capturing results to a server device 10. Upon verifying, by using said data, that the user has purchased a product that is nearing said date, the server device 10 offers a privilege to the user. Offering a privilege when a user purchases a product nearing said date provides a motivation to purchase such a product. Thus, it is possible to reduce food loss, i.e., products that are discarded due to expiration.
