Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an information processing system and an information processing method with which it is possible to automatically determine the use state of each of multiple kinds of products. [Solution] An information processing system provided with: a determination program storage unit in which is registered a determination program for determining whether or not product discrimination information for discriminating between multiple kinds of products and use state information of products indicated by the product discrimination information conform to a use method that corresponds to the product discrimination information; and a control unit which, when the product discrimination information and the use state information pertaining to the use state of the products are received by a communication unit, determines, by the determination program registered in the determination program storage unit, whether or not the use state information conforms to a use method that corresponds to the product discrimination information, and controls the communication unit so that the determination result, together with the product discrimination information, is transmitted to a service server that can set an incentive to a user correlated to the product discrimination information.
