Abstract:
An information providing device provides various types of information using an information presentation sound that includes a fundamental tone and at least one harmonic tone having a frequency of an integral multiple of the frequency of the fundamental tone. The information providing device includes a pitch setting unit for setting the pitch of the information presentation sound, and an information presentation sound generation unit for generating the information presentation sound having the pitch set by the pitch setting unit. Given that a weighted average of frequencies weighted by a parameter corresponding to a sound pressure is a centroid frequency, the pitch setting unit varies the centroid frequency of the information presentation sound in accordance with the type of information to be provided.
