Abstract:
Provided is an information provision system (1) with which it is possible to provide valuable content to a portable information terminal which a user who moves among areas possesses, said system comprising a portable information terminal (20) and an information provision server (30). Upon receiving transmitted data, the information provision server (30) extracts content corresponding to provision article information located among a plurality of pieces of content included in a facility information table (35a) and category information included in the transmission data, and transmits the extracted content to the portable information terminal (20); and upon receiving a switching request which requests the transmission of content which differs from the most recently received content, the information provision server (30) extracts from an associated category information table (34a) associated category information which is associated with the category information corresponding to the most recently received content, extracts from the facility information table (35a) content which corresponds to the associated category information, and transmits to the portable information terminal (20) the content which corresponds to the associated category information.
