Abstract:
[Problem] To efficiently provide advertising and other information over a network to a smartphone or other terminal. [Solution] The present invention builds an information provision system, comprising a management server 100 and a portable terminal 200. The portable terminal 200 acquires advertising data, as appropriate, from a management server 100, etc. over a network INT and displays the advertising data. However, the portable terminal 200 takes a photograph with a camera 200C when an advertisement is displayed, and assesses, by image recognition, whether there is a user present who is viewing the touch panel 200T thereof. The portable terminal 200 carries out processes such as displaying the advertisement or totaling the time spent actually viewing the advertisement as viewing time only when it is recognized that the user is present. Viewing results thus obtained are reported to the management server 100, and the user is given a reward on the basis thereof. As the viewing results are totaled on the basis of situations where it is inferred that the advertisement is being viewed, it is possible to discourage behavior such as causing advertisements to be needlessly displayed for the purpose of receiving rewards, and this thereby increases the likelihood for advertisements to be viewed.
