Abstract:
An information reader has guide paths (400, 402, 404) for inserting board-like information carriers of three width types, and the guide paths correspond to the board-like information carriers having different widths.
The guide path (404) is formed in a shape of substantially horizontal groove, which has opened top and a rectangular cross-section, and an opened end thereof is formed as an inserting port (410) for inserting the board-like information carrier.
The guide paths (400, 402, 404) hold the board-like information carrier substantially horizontally by means of the bottom surfaces (400BF, 402BF, 404BF) of the guide paths, and eliminate horizontal shifts of the board-like information carrier by means of both side surfaces (400SF, 402SF, 404SF).
