Abstract:
The present invention provides an information synchronization method and apparatus, the information synchronization method is used for a main bridge device and includes: resolving an address resolution protocol (ARP) message and generating first ARP resolution information; according to the first ARP resolution information, constructing a notification message corresponding to the first ARP resolution information; transmitting the notification message to a standby bridge device to enable the standby bridge device to resolve the received notification message and generate second ARP resolution information synchronously, and the second ARP resolution information is the same as the first ARP resolution information. By the present invention, the ARP resolution information generated on the main bridge device can be synchronized to the standby bridge device real-timely, and the function of double machine hot standby can be realized.
