Abstract:
Disclosed is an arrangement wherein a small-sized infrared ray detection element with a high detection sensitivity and an infrared ray detection device equipped therewith are provided by a simple manufacturing process. As a means of realizing this arrangement, an infrared ray detection element (1) is equipped with a plurality of pyroelectric body layers laminated in the same direction as the infrared ray incidence angle direction, A; one or more intermediate electrode layers laminated between the plurality of pyroelectric body layers; an outer electrode layer laminated on the outer surface of the pyroelectric body layer located in the outermost position; and an inner electrode layer laminated on the inner surface of the pyroelectric body layer located in the innermost position. Two pyroelectric body layers adjacent to each other in the lamination direction are polarized in such a way that the polarization directions are opposite to each other.
