Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an infusion pump which, by halting delivery of a medication if gas bubbles are included in a drug fluid within an infusion tube, is capable of preventing effects on the body of a patient. [Solution] An infusion pump (1) is provided with: a gas bubble sensor (51) which detects gas bubbles that occur within an infusion tube (200) when delivering medication; a drive motor (61) which delivers a medication (171) within an infusion tube (200) to a patient (P) side; and a control unit (100) which, if, according to a gas bubble detection signal (S1) of a gas bubble sensor, the size of gas bubbles (AB) is greater than or equal to a predefined size, stops the drive motor (61) to halt delivery operation of the medication, and if the size of the gas bubbles (AB) is less than the predefined size, counts the number of gas bubbles (AB), whereupon if the total volume of the number of bubbles counted reaches a predefined threshold within a predefined amount of time, stops the drive motor (61) to halt the delivery operation of the medication.
