Abstract:

The present invention reliably prevents the unwanted extrusion of a drug solution from a syringe by stopping the advancement of a pressing part just before the pressing part contacts a rear end of the syringe. An injection device (1) that is for injecting a drug solution and that is provided with: an injection head (2) that has installed thereon a syringe (91) that is filled with the drug solution; a pressing unit (4) that is provided to the injection head (2) and that presses a rear end (931) of the syringe (91); a rear end detection unit (7) that is provided to the injection head (2) and that detects the rear end (931) without coming into contact therewith; and a control unit (50) that controls the injection head (2). The control unit (50) acquires an advancement distance for advancing the pressing unit (4) after the rear end (931) is detected and, after the rear end (931) is detected, advances the pressing unit (4) only the advancement distance and stops the pressing unit (4) at a position that is separated from the rear end (931).
