Abstract:
The present invention provides an ink-jet aqueous coating composition, a printing method, and a printed article. Said composition can be used for printing a coating layer such as a primer coat layer or an overcoat layer, and can identify printing defects in the coating layer while inhibiting any loss in the visibility of the printed image. An ink-jet aqueous coating composition pertaining to the present invention is optically transparent in the visible light range, wherein the ink-jet aqueous coating composition is characterized in containing at least a coating agent and a fluorescent agent, the coating agent content being less than 20 mass% relative to the entire mass of the ink-jet aqueous coating composition, and the fluorescent agent being dissolved in the ink-jet aqueous coating composition and emitting fluorescent light in the visible range as the result of irradiation with ultraviolet light having a wavelength band in the range of 100 to 400 nm.
