Abstract:
This invention provides an ink jet black ink that can produce image quality comparable with that of silver salt photographs, can simultaneously realize a high level of fastness and a high level of image quality in printing on recording media, is particularly excellent in optical density and color tone in halftone, as well as in gas resistance. The ink jet black ink comprises a dye and a black pigment and is characterized in that the dye is at least one dye selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formula (I) or salts thereof, and compounds represented by general formula (II) or salts thereof.
