Abstract:
This invention provides an ink jet cyan ink, which, even when a yellow ink or a magenta
ink containing a specific coloring material having excellent fastness properties
is used, does not sacrifice the fastness properties and can simultaneously realize
a reduction in uneven reciprocation and a reduction in beading, and an ink jet
recording method using the ink. The ink jet recording method uses either a yellow
ink and a cyan ink, or a magenta ink and a cyan ink and is characterized in that the
yellow ink and the magenta ink contains a specific coloring material and has a
surface tension of not less than 33.0 mN/m and not more than 36.0 mN/m, and the cyan
ink contains a specific phthalocyanine compound, contains 1,5-pentanediol
as an organic solvent, and has a surface tension of not less than 32.9 mN/m and not
more than 35.4 mN/m.
