Abstract:
Provided are an ink jet head maintenance apparatus and an ink jet recording apparatus capable of properly performing maintenance of an ink ejection surface with a simpler configuration. An ink jet head maintenance unit 40 is provided with a suction member 41 having an ink suction hole, wherein air inside the suction hole is sucked from one opening of the suction hole by a suction operation unit 42. The suction member has a height adjustment surface which is adjacent to an opening surface having the other opening of the suction hole, and of which the inner angle formed with the opening surface is a blunt angle. In accordance with an external force applied to the height adjustment surface, each position of the opening surface is movable in a first direction including a normal direction in a prescribed initial state of the opening surface.
