Abstract:
An ink jet printer capable of clearly printing pictorial diagrams and characters without oozing by using a solvent ink, comprising a preheater for preliminarily heating media carried through the rear upper part of a platen to the underside of a printer head traveling route and a print heater carried onto the center part of the platen under the print head traveling route and heating the media for receiving ink droplets injected from the nozzle of the print head, wherein the ink droplets injected from the nozzle of the print head on the surface of the media are heat-dried earlier on the surface of the media to prevent the ink droplets from widely penetrating into the media in those areas around ink droplet received positions.
