An ink-jet printer capable of extremely stably holding a sheet, wherein an ink-jet (3) is installed above the outer periphery of a printing drum (1) rotated in one direction. Openable grippers (15) gripping the tip part of the sheet (S) and openable clamps (21) pressing the rear end part of the sheet (S) are installed on the printing drum (1). When the clamp (21) is moved from an opening position to a closed position, the clamp (21) is moved to the succeeding side of the printing drum (1) in the rotating direction to apply a tension to the rear end part of the sheet (S) by the contact thereof with the clamp (21) so as to tense the sheet (S).In the tensed state, the rear end part of the sheet (S) is pressed by the clamp (21). Also, the clamp (21) is fitted to the peripheral surface of the printing drum (1) by a suction means to secure the pressing of the sheet (S).
