Abstract:
An ink jet recorder for recording on a recording medium being carried while mounted on a carrying belt by ejecting ink drops from a plurality of nozzles in which recording quality is enhanced while increasing the recording speed. The recording medium carrying means comprises first and second carrying sections juxtaposed in the carrying direction of the recording medium and each having a plurality of carrying belts spaced at specified intervals. The carrying belts of the first and second carrying sections are staggered such that the carrying belts of the first carrying section are located among the carrying belts of the second carrying section. The recording head comprises a first head so arranged as to oppose to the spacing between the carrying belts of the first carrying section, and a second head so arranged as to oppose to the spacing between the carrying belts of the second carrying section.
