Abstract:
[Problem] Provided are an ink jet recording apparatus and an ink jet recording method by which a shape and an arrangement of a post-treatment unit can be easily designed while image-quality unevenness resulting from post-processing is suppressed.
[Solution] A plurality of recording heads 30 and 32 constitute a staggered arrangement in which the recording heads 30 and 32 are each arranged in X and Y directions by two or more. A pair of post-treatment units 36 and 38 is arranged so as to be parallel to each other along the X direction and make the plurality of recording heads 30 and 32 held therebetween. A length in the X direction of each of the pair of post-treatment units 36 and 38 is greater than or equal to a range in the X direction where the plurality of recording heads 30 and 32 is allowed to perform ejection in single scanning. The plurality of recording heads 30 and 32 is arranged so that nozzle groups 46 and 48 ejecting liquid droplets 26 of the same color are symmetrical to each other with respect to a center line C between the pair of post-treatment units 36 and 38.
