Abstract:
An inkjet head (10) comprises: a substrate (11) in which pressure chambers (16a, 16d) are formed, and which has a vibration layer (11f) extending over the pressure chambers (16a, 16d); driving piezoelectric elements (15a, 15c) which are provided on the vibration layer of the substrate so as to be in a one-to-one correspondence relationship with the pressure chambers (16a, 16d), and which expand and contract to vibrate the vibration layer, thereby pressurizing the corresponding pressure chambers so as to eject ink; a detection piezoelectric element (15b) which is provided on the vibration layer of the substrate separately from the driving piezoelectric elements, and which detects a change in liquid pressure within the pressure chambers corresponding to the expanding/contracting driving piezoelectric elements when the driving piezoelectric elements are expanding/contracting; and a control device which determines whether the pressure chambers are in a state in which ink can be properly discharged on the basis of the change in the liquid pressure within the pressure chambers detected by the detection piezoelectric element.
