Abstract:
A novel inkjet printer system is provided which has high usability and which constructs a network environment without causing excessive costs to an already set-up production line. A portable relay 3 that is provided with a memory function and that can be carried is interposed between an inkjet printer 6 and a server 5; communication between the inkjet printer 6 and the relay 3 is performed by near field communication 2, and printing-related data is transmitted from the inkjet printer 6 to the relay 3, or from the relay 3 to the inkjet printer 6; further, communication between the relay 3 and the server 5 is performed over a communication network 4, and printing-related information is transmitted from the server 5 to the relay 3 or from the relay 3 to the server 5. In this way, it is possible to construct a network environment without causing excessive costs for an already set-up production line.
