Title:
INKJET PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/203628
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In printers such that an inkjet head is mounted on a carriage that moves in a direction intersecting the direction of conveyance of a recording medium, and ink is discharged from the inkjet head, thus recording an image at the recording medium, there has been the problem that the recording medium becomes charged by friction or peeling during conveyance of the recording medium, resulting in ink mist being drawn to the charged locations and unexpected patterns being recorded. Thus, in the present invention, an ionizer that generates positive ions and an ionizer that generates negative ions are provided to the carriage, and ions are generated during the scanning of the carriage, thereby eliminating static electricity generated at the recording medium. The efficient elimination of static electricity is enabled by disposing ionizers generating ions having both positive and negative polarity at the carriage.
