Title:
INKJET PRINTING DEVICE AND PRINT-HEAD CLEANING PROGRAM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/073651
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of making it possible to clean an ink chamber in a print head using a simple architecture. To solve said problem, this inkjet printer (100) has the following: a piezoelectric element (8) that applies vibrations to a diaphragm (7) facing an ink chamber (6) that connects to a nozzle (3) in a print head (1); and a voltage-applying means (a power supply and a controller) that applies a voltage of a prescribed frequency to the piezoelectric element (8). In this inkjet printer (100), when the aforementioned voltage-applying means applies a voltage to the piezoelectric element (8), ink is discharged from the nozzle (3) and printing is performed. The voltage-applying means also applies, to the piezoelectric element (8), a voltage of a frequency that differs from the printing frequency and is used to clean the nozzle (3) and the inside of the ink chamber (6).
