Abstract:

The inkjet printing device is provided with a conveyance unit, a printing unit, a separating unit, and a detecting unit. The conveyance unit continuously conveys a long printing medium in the conveyance direction along the longitudinal direction of the printing medium. The printing unit is provided with a line-type inkjet heat. At an upstream region on the upstream side of the inkjet head in the conveyance direction and at a downstream region on the downstream side, the separating unit moves the printing medium, which is being conveyed by the conveyance unit, in a separating direction that increases the gap from the discharge surface of the inkjet head where multiple nozzles are formed. The separating unit moves the printing medium, which is being conveyed by the conveyance unit, when the detecting unit detects a printing medium joint or a portion of the printing medium in which the gap becomes narrower than the standard gap.
