Abstract:
The method of producing the innovative slipper-sock (1), as detailed In this invention, comprises of at least several manufacturing consecutive phases as follows: the knitting of the basic sock (800), the knitting of the fold (810) and of the outer layer sock (820), forming the fixed connection of the outer layer sock to the basic layer sock (830), fixing the fold to the basic layer sock (840) and manufacturing connective elements (850). The innovative slipper-sock consist of at least the basic sock (10) and the outer layer sock (30) that may be folded over the basic sock (10). In order to connect the basic sock (10) with the outer layer sock (30) permanently, the outer layer sock's rim is connected to the basic sock (10) on its upper rim (36) that is in its place when the innovative slipper-sock is pulled over on the leg above the foot. For the purpose of a better aesthetic formation, the innovative slipper-sock comprises of a fold (20) connected to the basic sock (10) with its upper fold rim (25), so that the fold (20) covers the spot where the outer layer sock (30) is attached to the basic sock (10). The outer layer sock (30) has connective elements (40) on its other end, usually a Velcro strip (423, 443) or a connective band or a shoe lace (450) with appropriate elements of the upper and bottom openings (422, 442) to pull through the connective element of the band (450).

PATENT CLAIMS

1. The manufacturing procedure for the innovative slipper-sock (1) wherein it comprises of at least the following phases in consecutive order: the production of the basic sock (800), the production of the outer layer sock (810), pulling over and adjusting the outer layer sock onto the basic sock on the form (830), removing of the aligned outer layer sock and the basic sock from the form (840), fixing of the outer layer sock to the basic sock (850) and the production of the connective elements on the outer layer sock (860).

2. The manufacturing procedure for the innovative slipper-sock (1 ) wherein the adjustment of the outer layer sock is done on the basic sock already on the form (830) so that the outer layer sock's heel (340) is aligned with the basic sock's heel.

3. The manufacturing procedure for the innovative slipper-sock (1) as claimed in any previous patent claim wherein the procedure of producing the outer layer sock (30) is done on the standard microcontroller-managed sock manufacturing machine, when the parameters for the outer layer sock (8200) are set first, depending on the foot size, the number of lines on the upper rim of the outer layer sock (310), the number of lines of the outer layer sock on the leg (320), the number of lines around the outer layer sock's foot (330), the number of lines of the outer layer sock's heel (340) and the number of lines on the bottom rim of the outer layer sock (310). Then a single line of the outer layer sock's upper rim (8202) is produced and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock's upper rim is tested in the manufacturing loop (8204). The procedure of producing (8202) a further line of the outer layer sock's upper rim (310) is repeated the assigned number of times. The production of a single line of the outer layer sock on the leg (82 2) and the procedure of producing (8212) another further line of the outer layer sock's on the leg (320) is repeated the assigned number of times. Then a single line of the outer layer sock's foot (8220) is produced on the produced part of the outer layer sock on the foot (320) and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock on the leg is tested in the manufacturing loop (8224). The procedure of producing (8220) another further line of the outer layer sock's foot (330) is repeated the assigned number of times. Then a single line of the outer layer sock's heel (8230) is produced (8230) on the produced part of the outer layer sock on the heel (330) and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock's heel is tested in the manufacturing loop (8232). The procedure of producing (8230) a further line of the outer layer sock's heel (340) is repeated the assigned number of times. Then a single line of the bottom rim of the outer layer sock (8240) is produced (8240) on the produced part of the outer layer sock on the foot (330) and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock on the foot is tested in the manufacturing loop (8242). The procedure of producing (8240) a further line of the outer layer sock on the toes (350) is repeated the assigned number of times which ends the procedure of producing the outer sock (8260).

4. The manufacturing procedure for the innovative slipper-sock (1 ) as claimed in claim 3 wherein after the production of the portion of the outer layer sock around the foot (330), a single line of the outer layer sock's heel is produced at the bottom render on the toes (heel, toes) (8250). Then the production loop is tested whether the n assigned lines of the outer sock's heel on the bottom render on toes (heel, toes) (8252) have been produced. The procedure of the production of a single line of the outer layer sock's heel at the bottom render on toes (8250) is repeated until the assigned number of lines for the outer layer's heel at the bottom render on toes (heel, toes) (360) is done.

5. The innovative slipper-sock (1) wherein it is manufactured according to the procedures in earlier claims.

6. The adjustment procedure by a microcontroller of the sock manufacturing machine wherein the program for the production of standard socks is altered so that such a machine produces socks according to any of the following patent claims: 1 , 3 or 4.

7. The innovative slipper-sock (1 ) wherein it comprises the outer layer sock (30) where its front end, toes, has the opening large enough to pull the outer layer sock (30) from the human leg (70) over the foot and the toes, towards the end of the outer layer sock (30) otherwise placed on the shin of the human leg (70).

8. The innovative slipper-sock (1) as claimed in claim 7 wherein the front part of the outer layer sock (30) comprises of a connecting element (40).

9. The innovative sock (1) as claimed in claim 8 wherein the connective element (40) is realized in the way that the upper part of the connective element (421) comprises of two elements of the upper opening (422) to pull through the band, and the bottom part of the connective element (441 ) may be folded over the upper part of the connective element (421 ) and comprises of two elements of the bottom opening (442) to pull through the band. The connective element (40) comprises also of the connective element of the band (450) so that the outer layer sock (30) may be closed when the connective element of the band (450) is pulled through both elements of the upper opening (422), while the bottom part of the connective element (441) is simultaneously folded over the upper part of the connective element (421 ) so that there is one element of the bottom opening (442) over each element of the upper opening (442) and one end of the connective element of the band (452, 454) exiting each of the upper opening's element (422) is pulled through the appropriate element of the bottom opening (442) and that the ends of the connective element of the band (452, 454) are tied together over the bottom part of the connective element (441)

10. The innovative slipper-sock wherein it comprises of the basic sock (10) and the outer layer sock (30) so that the outer layer sock (30) may be pulled over the basic sock (10).

1 1. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claiml O wherein the outer layer sock (30) is attached to the basic sock (10) by its upper rim (36) when the innovative slipper-sock (1) is on the leg over the foot.

12. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 1 wherein it comprises of a fold (20) attached to the basic sock (10) by the fold rim (25), so that the fold (20) covers the spot where the outer layer sock (30) is attached to the basic sock (10).

13. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 1 or 12 wherein the outer layer sock (30) on its other end, opposite from the upper end of the outer layer sock (36) has a connective element (40) to close, that is, open the outer layer sock (30) on its other end to be pulled over the basic sock (10) towards the spot where the fold (20) is connected to the basic sock ( 0).

14. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 10, 1 1 ,12 or 13 wherein the outer layer sock (30) comprises of non-skid elements (34) on the bottom part of the outer layer sock with the function of preventing the skidding of the bottom part of the outer layer sock (32) on smooth surfaces when walking with the outer layer sock (30) in its functional position.

15. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 14 wherein the non-skid elements (34) are in the form of crosses distributed on the bottom part of the outer layer sock (32) by hot-gluing to the bottom part of the outer layer sock(32).

The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 14 wherein the connective element (40) is realized in the way that the upper part of the connective element (421 ) comprises of two elements of the upper opening (422) to pull through the band. The bottom part of the connective element (441) may be folded over the upper part of the connective element (421) and comprises of two elements of the bottom opening (442) to pull through the band. The connective element (40) comprises also of the connective element of the band (450) so that the outer layer sock (30) may be closed when the connective element of the band (450) is pulled through both elements of the upper opening (422), The bottom part of the connective element (441) is simultaneously folded over the upper part of the connective element (421) so that there is one element of the bottom opening (442) over each element of the upper opening (442) one end of the connective element of the band (452, 454) exiting each of the upper opening's element (422) is pulled through the appropriate element of the bottom opening (442) and that the ends of the connective element of the band (452, 454) are tied together over the bottom part of the connective element (441)

17. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 16 wherein the connective element (450) is a spirally formed rubber band with connected ends, and one end of the connective band (454) is tied around the other end of the connective element (452)

18. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 13 wherein the connective element (40) comprises of the upper portion of the connective element (421), the upper Velcro strip (423), the bottom portion of the connective element (441 ) and the bottom Velcro strip (443). The connective element (40) is realized so that the upper portion of the connective element (421 ) is on the upper side (423), while the inner side of the bottom connective element (441 ) is the bottom Velcro strip (443) placed so that the bottom portion of the connective element (441) may fold over the upper portion of the connective element (421) and that the connective element (40) closes with the Velcro strip.

19. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 13 wherein the connective element (40) has the first part of the connective element (42) and the second part of the connective element (44) that is positioned opposite the other one when the outer layer sock (30) is not pulled over the foot. The first part of the connective element (42) is on the front of the leg, the second part of the connective element (44) on the back of the leg.

20. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 13 wherein the connective element (40) are female (460) and male (462) snap fasteners.

21. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 13 wherein the connective element (40) comprises of the upper part of the connecting element (421 ), two female snap fasteners (460), two male snap fasteners (462) and the bottom connecting element (441 ). The connective element (40) is realized so that the upper part of the connecting element (421 ) contains two male snap fasteners (462) on the upper side placed in the line perpendicular to the toe direction, while on the inner side of the bottom part of the connecting element (441 ) there are two female snap fasteners (460) placed so that the appropriate female snap fastener (460) may receive the appropriate male snap fastener (462), and that this innovative slipper- sock be closed where the connective element (40) is placed.

22. The innovative slipper-sock (1 ) as claimed in claim 8 wherein the connective elements (40) are female (460) and male (462) snap fasteners.

23. The innovative slipper-sock as claimed in claim 8 wherein the connective element (40) comprises of the upper part of the connecting element (421 ), two female snap fasteners (460), two male snap fasteners (462) and the bottom connecting element (441) when the connective element (40) is realized so that the upper part of the connecting element (421) contains the two male snap fasteners (462) on the upper side placed in the line perpendicular to the toe direction, while on the inner side of the bottom part of the connecting element (441 ) there are two female snap fasteners (460) placed so that the appropriate female snap fastener (460) may receive the appropriate male snap fastener (462), and that this innovative slipper-sock may be closed where the connective element is (40).

DESCRIPTION OFINVENTION:

The Innovative Slipper-Sock and its Manufacturing Process

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION:

The invention belongs to the field of footwear - i.e. socks to be used as socks or slippers, but also to the field of the manufacturing technology of such socks, that is, slippers.

TECHNICAL PROBLEM

The inventor has been working with the sock manufacturing techniques for over 20 years. The problem was noticed when parents and kids visit other homes with strict hygiene rules forbidding guest to walk the premises in their shoes and the owners have no spare guest slippers. In such situations the guests would walk in socks which is rather unhygienic, because the floor dust adheres to the socks and is transferred to their shoes. The same problem exists in children's playhouses when slippers are not required. Children walk in their socks and carry the dirt from their socks into their shoes when returning home.

The second problem that the inventor solved was the removal of the risk when a person carries slippers (in a bag or so) and forgets or easily misplaces them, especially because they are not physically tied to the socks. Thus the socks were invented that may be converted into slippers and vice versa, while the slipper is permanently tied to the sock.

The third problem solved by this invention is the problem of wearing rubber boots when the upper rim of the rubber boot hits the leg during the walking and renders such walking difficult due to the unadjusted part of the rubber boot.

And, finally, in order for such a sock to be serially manufactured, the inventor designed the production process for such a sock and resolved the problem of the manufacturing procedures for such a sock, as well as the upgrade of the existing automatons - sock manufacturing machines - to render them applicable for the manufacturing of such socks. TECHNOLOGICAL STATE

Various computer operated machines for manufacturing standard socks already exist.

The inventor does not know of any sock that is both a sock and a slipper, that is, a slipper that is both a sock and a slipper. It is possible to wear two socks on one foot, one as a sock and the other as a slipper, which is a very impractical solution, because the outer sock must be taken off when you put on a shoe. One such pair would have to be carried in a pocket. When people come to places where shoes are not allowed, they usually take slippers with them. Today, there are very light and thin slippers, of a small volume, but the risk of forgetting slippers still exits. However, the innovative slipper-sock is not possible to be produced on the standard sock manufacturing machine without the necessary adjustments to such a machine. Considering this is a new and innovative sock, there is neither any procedure for the machine production of such a sock, nor the upgrading procedure for the existing sock manufacturing machines.

STATEMENT OF INVENTION

The procedure to produce the innovative slipper-sock explained in this invention is realized at least in the following consecutive phases: producing the basic sock, forming the fold, producing the outer layer sock, fixing the outer layer sock to the basic sock, fixing the fold to the basic sock and producing the connective elements on the outer sock. Since there are no special features in producing the basic sock, the key for this invention is the production of the outer layer sock on the standard microcontroller managed sock manufacturing machine. The parameters for the outer layer sock are determined depending on the foot size, the number of lines on the upper rim of the outer layer sock, the number of lines of the outer layer sock on the leg, the number of lines around the outer layer sock's foot, the number of lines on the outer layer sock's heel and the number of lines on the bottom rim of the outer layer sock. After the parameters of the outer layer sock have been determined, the sock is produced on the standard microcontroller managed sock manufacturing machine in the following manner: First, a line of the outer layer sock's upper rim is produced and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock's upper rim is tested in the manufacturing loop. The procedure is repeated until the assigned number of lines of the outer layer sock's upper rim has been finished. After that, a single line of the outer layer sock on the leg is produced and the procedure of producing another further line of the outer layer sock's on the leg is repeated the assigned number of times. Then a single line of the outer layer sock's foot is produced on the produced part of the outer layer sock on the foot and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock on the leg is tested in the manufacturing loop. The procedure of producing a further line of the outer layer sock's foot is repeated the assigned number of times. Then a single line of the outer layer sock's heel is produced on the produced part of the outer layer sock on the heel and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock's heel is tested in the manufacturing loop. The last step in the production of the sock's foot is a single line of the bottom rim of the outer layer sock and the production of the assigned lines of the outer layer sock on the foot is tested in the manufacturing loop. The procedure of producing another further line of the outer layer sock on the bottom rim is repeated the assigned number of times, which ends the procedure of producing the outer sock.

This invention is an innovative slipper-sock performing both as a sock and as a slipper, whereas it comprises of at least the basic sock and the outer layer sock aligned thusly that the outer layer sock may be pulled over the basic sock, so that when the invention has the function of the sock, the outer layer sock is rolled over the leg, on the upper part only, and when the outer layer sock has the slipper function, it is pulled over the foot. Therefore, as seen on Fig. 4, when the innovative slipper-sock is on the foot in footwear, the outer layer sock is pulled over the boot, not hindering the walk. The outer layer sock's upper rim is placed above the foot and connected to the basic sock when the innovative slipper-sock is used in the form of the sock. In order to form this innovative slipper-sock aesthetically on the basic sock, there is a fold attached to the basic sock by the fold rim, so that the fold covers the spot where the outer layer sock is attached to the basic sock.ln order to avoid slipping when using the outer layer sock on the foot, the outer layer sock on its other end, opposite from the upper end of the outer layer sock, has a connective element to close, that is, open the outer layer sockon its other end to be pulled over the basic sock towards the spot where the fold is connected to the basic sock.

In order to prevent the skidding of the innovative slipper-sock when used in the form of a sock, the outer layer sock comprises of non-skid elements to prevent skidding on smooth surfaces during walking. The best option is for the non-skid elements to be in the form of crosses distributed over the bottom part of the outer layer sock by hot gluing them to the bottom part of the outer layer sock. The non-skid elements made of elastomere have proved the best, due to the high friction coefficient between them and the surface. Elastomere materials suitable for such use are rubber, silicones or plastisol.

The connective element may be realized in many ways. One option to realize the connective element is the two elements on the upper opening to pull through the band, and the bottom part of the connective element may be folded over the upper part of the connective element. It comprises of two elements of the bottom opening to pull through the band. The connective element also comprises of the connective element of the band so that the outer layer sock may be closed when the connective element of the band is pulled through both elements of the upper opening, while the bottom part of the connective element is simultaneously folded over the upper part of the connective element so that there is one element of the bottom opening over each element of the upper opening. One end of the connective element of the band, exiting each of the upper opening's element is pulled through the appropriate element of the bottom opening and that the ends of the connective element of the band, are attached together over the bottom part of the connective element. The fastening of the connective element of the band is best realized by a spirally formed rubber bandwhen its ends are connected, one end of the band tied with the other end of the connective element.

The other option for the connective element is a Velcro strip on the upper and the bottom part of the connective element. The connective element is realized so that the upper portion of the connective element is on the upper side, while the inner side of the bottom connective element is the bottom Velcro strip, placed so that the bottom portion of the connective element may fold over the upper portion of the connective element and that the connective element closes with the Velcro strip. Thus, the connective element has the first part of the connective element and the second part of the connective element that is positioned one opposite the other when the outer layer sock is not pulled over the foot. The first part of the connective element is on the front of the leg, the second part of the connective element on the back of the leg. This innovative slipper-sock comprises of only the outer layer sock, when its front end, toes, has the opening large enough to pull the outer layer sock from the human leg over the foot and the toes, towards the end of the outer layer sock otherwise placed on the shin of the human leg.

Furthermore, the front end of the outer layer sock may comprise of a connective element to close that end of the outer layer sock. The connective element on this innovative slipper-sock is realized so that it contains two connective elements of the upper openings in the upper part, and in the bottom part connective elements to be folded over the upper connective element with two bottom opening elements to pu!l the band through. The connective element also comprises of the connective element of the band so that the outer layer sock may be closed when the connective element of the band is pulled through both elements of the upper opening, while the bottom part of the connective element is simultaneously folded over the upper part of the connective element and there is one element of the bottom opening over each element of the upper opening and one end of the connective element of the band, exiting each of the upper opening's element, is pulled through the appropriate element of the bottom opening and that the ends of the connective element of the band are tied together over the bottom part of the connective element.

Also, the connective element may be executed with female and male snap fasteners. This comprises of the upper part of the connecting element, two female snap fasteners, two male snap fasteners and the bottom connecting element, when the connective element is realized so that the upper part of the connecting element contains two male snap fasteners on the upper side placed in the line perpendicular to the toe direction, while on the inner side of the bottom part of the connecting element there are two female snap fasteners placed so that the appropriate female snap fastener may receive the appropriate male snap fastener, and that this innovative slipper-sock may be closed at its bottom where the connective element is placed. 8260 - end of outer layer sock production A DETAILED DESCRIPTIONOF AT LEAST ONE MODE OF REALIZING THE INVENTION

The procedure to manufacture the innovative slipper-sock 1 is realized on the standard microcontroller-managed sock manufacturing machine, with programmable choice of producing the following parts of the innovative slipper-sock 1 : producing the basic sock 800 and producing the outer layer sock 810. The procedure of joining the basic parts of the innovative slipper-sock, that is, the basic sock 800 and the outer layer sock 810, is done manually, with the sewing machine. The phases are done in the following order: producing the basic sock 800 and producing the outer layer sock 810, pulling over the basic sock on the form 65,820, pulling over and adjusting the outer layer sock onto the basic sock on the form 65,830, removing the aligned outer layer sock and the basic sock from the form 65,840, fixing of the outer layer sock on the basic sock 850 and producing the connective elements on the outer layer sock 860, in the standard option by sewing the Velcro strip 423,443.
