Abstract:
Provided is an input device which detects contact with respect to a touch sensor while also detecting a pressing force load with respect to the touch sensor, capable of operating even if a malfunction occurs when detecting the pressing force load. An input device (1) is provided with: a touch sensor (11); a load detection unit (12) which detects a pressing force load with respect to the touch sensor (11); a malfunction detection unit (16) which senses a malfunction in the load detection unit (12); and a control unit (15) which controls the input device so as to allow switching between a first input mode wherein a prescribed process is executed when the touch sensor (11) detects contact, and a second input mode wherein a prescribed process is executed when the load detection unit (12) detects a pressing force load satisfying a prescribed load standard in a state in which the touch sensor (11) detects contact. If the malfunction detection unit (16) senses a malfunction in the load detection unit (12), the control unit (15) controls the input device so as to prevent switching over to the second input mode.
