Abstract:
The input device of the present invention is provided with a substrate, a switch element for the substrate, and a detection unit for detecting changes in capacitance at the switch element. The switch element comprises: a fixed electrode section that is provided to the substrate; and a movable electrode section that is provided to the main surface side of the substrate, and that has at least one part which can be elastically displaced toward and away from the fixed electrode section. The movable electrode section is capable of displacement toward the fixed electrode section, said displacement resulting from pressing force from an object to be detected that is a conductor. The detection unit is capable of detecting changes in capacitance resulting from displacement of the movable electrode section toward or away from the object to be detected, and of detecting changes in capacitance between the movable electrode section and the fixed electrode section resulting from displacement of the movable electrode section that is caused by the pressing force. The fixed electrode section is electrically insulated from the movable electrode section and is connected to a ground.
