Abstract:
Disclosed are an input method and system for an electronic device. The method comprises: acquiring operation data of a user on a contact point in an input interface (S100); according the operation data of the contact point, carrying out parsing to obtain an input graph to be determined (S200); according to the mapping relationships between various input graphs and various characters, obtaining a matching character corresponding to the input graph to be determined (S300); and outputting the matching character (S400). The present application provides the technical solution of obtaining matching characters according to a sliding track of an operation. The fast input of all the characters can be achieved by a single finger, and characters are correlated according to the shapes of input graphs; and therefore, convenient features can be extracted for coding and users can easily remember coding rules without too much memorising and practice; and there is no need to support too many keys, and the volume of the corresponding input apparatus can be reduced, making it greatly convenient for users to use same.
