Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to detect with high accuracy the location of transportation route equipment where a part of a surface formed in an arc is obscured by a structure. An arithmetic circuit 33 uses the method of least squares for circles to compute, from profile data, the center point coordinates and radius of the circle of an arc constituting a curvature portion of a cross-section of transportation route equipment (step S102). This is followed by calculation of the coordinates of the center point of a circle that passes through two points on the circumference of a circle having the computed center point coordinates and radius and that has the same radius as the radius of the circle of the arc stipulated by standards for the transportation route equipment (step S103). The calculated coordinates of the center point are displaced progressively in each of the axial directions of the coordinate axes, and coordinates are calculated where the sum total of the square of the error between the radius calculated from the profile data and the radius of the circle of the arc stipulated by the standards become a minimum value (step 104). The position of the transportation route equipment is detected from the selected coordinates (step S105).
