Abstract:

Provided is an installation method for an airplane lavatory unit which is advantageous in increasing the number of seats, also provided is an airplane. A structural frame (28) of a lavatory unit (18) comprises a front wall having an entrance-exit (32) that is opened and closed by a door (30), lateral walls on both sides, and a bottom wall (2810). The outer surface of a lateral wall from between both lateral walls that is located forward serves as a wall surface (2802) facing back rests (2402) of a rear-end seat row (26) and extending in the left and right direction. The lavatory unit (18) is provided so as to installable in a front position (P1) in which the wall surface (2802) is positioned behind and near the back rests (2402) of each seat (24) in the rear-end seat row (26) which are in an upright state, and in a rear position (P2) in which the wall surface (2802) is positioned behind and near the back rests (2402) of each seat (24) in the rear-end seat row (26) which are in a reclined position.
