An installation tool for a spherical reticulated housing structure, the spherical reticulated housing structure comprising a plurality of reticulated housing units (5). The installation tool comprises a support frame (1), a lifting system (2), a fixing frame (3) and an inhaul cable assembly (4). The support frame (1) is disposed on one side of the spherical reticulated housing structure to be installed; the lifting system (2) is disposed on the support frame (1) and used for lifting the fixing frame (3) which is connected to the lifting system (2); and the inhaul cable assembly (4) is connected to the fixing frame (3) and the reticulated housing units (5). It can be guaranteed that the stress of the reticulated housing units (5) in the same layer is balanced and stable, improving the construction efficiency of the reticulated housing units (5) in the same layer. Lifting of the fixing frame (3) is achieved by means of the lifting system (2), and layer-by-layer rapid installation of the spherical reticulated housing structure is achieved, improving the overall construction efficiency of the spherical reticulated housing structure. Thus, it is ensured that stress is balanced and stable while a stress system is simplified, and safety risks are reduced. The present invention also relates to an installation method for a spherical reticulated housing structure
