Abstract:
The present application provides an instant messaging group management method and apparatus. The method comprises: determining must-read messages in group session messages; determining whether the group disbanding conditions are satisfied or not according to the reading situation of the must-read messages; and if the group disbanding conditions are satisfied, disbanding the group based on the preset strategy. The present application can determine whether the group disbanding conditions are satisfied according to the reading situation of the must-read messages in the group, and can disband the group based on the preset strategy when the group disbanding conditions are satisfied, so as to disband a large quantity of "corpse groups", thus reducing the complexity of group management, and releasing storage, processing and other resources of a server at the same time.
