Description:
INSULATED EMBEDDED FLOOR

Technical Field

The invention according to the application relates to an insulated embedded floor that forms the trailer floor of vehicles which carry perishable food and cargo and thereby whose trailers are insulated.

The State-of-the-Art (Prior Art)

According to the prior art, the floor section of trailers of vehicles, which carry perishable food and cargo and thereby whose trailers are insulated, that are connected to the vehicle chassis consist of wooden crosses, a CTP panel or an aluminium panel, an isolation block, plywood flooring, and an upper panel made of chequered aluminium.

The most important problem of this floor structure that is in use today is that in order to attach the structure to the vehicle chassis, a second support chassis is bolted under it and then the floor assembly is mounted to the vehicle chassis.

In such applications, the floor structure should have a minimum height of 60 mm for it to compensate the loads and forces exerted on it and due to the structure of the king pin located on the lower support chassis. Consequently, the net height for inner loading is kept at a low value in order not to exceed maximum clearance limits according to regulations. This, in turn, reduces the vehicle's load capacity and efficiency.

Brief Description and Aims of the Invention

With the insulated embedded floor according to the invention, minimisation of the support chassis structure's height by reinforcing the floor structure and thereby production of a vehicle with more inner height are aimed by using profiles with custom cross-section made of high strength steel, coupling elements and ducts, embedded draw pin design and countersunk bolt connection systems unlike prior art floor systems.
