Abstract:
Provided is an insulated wire which comprises an insulation layer containing PFA and has excellent wear resistance without increasing the thickness of the insulation layer. An insulated wire which comprises a conductor and an insulation layer that covers the conductor. The insulation layer contains a fluorine-containing copolymer (A) that comprises a constituent unit based on tetrafluoroethylene and a constituent unit based on a perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether. The content of the constituent unit based on a perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether is 0.1-1.9% by mole relative to all the constituent units in the fluorine-containing copolymer (A). The MFR of the fluorine-containing copolymer (A) as determined by a method in conformity with ASTM D-3307 is 0.1 or more but less than 15. The melting point of the fluorine-containing copolymer (A) is 260°C or more. The ratio of the thickness Di of the insulation layer to the diameter Dc of the conductor, namely Di/Dc is less than 0.5.
