Abstract:
To improve withstand voltage strength of an insulating material in a specific direction and toughness of the insulating material in a direction perpendicular to the specific direction; and to improve reliability of a high voltage device by using this insulating material. The present invention provides an insulating material which comprises a matrix resin (51), lamellar compounds (53) and fine particles (52). The lamellar compounds (53) and the fine particles (52) are dispersed in the matrix resin (51). The lamellar compounds (53) are used in the form of plates or rods, and the major axes of the plates or rods are oriented in a certain direction. A plurality of the fine particles (52) aggregate and form a dendrite-like structure, and are dispersed between adjacent lamellar compounds (53).
