Abstract:
An insulation inspection device for motors comprises an inverter (3) to drive a motor (2), a partial discharge detecting unit (6) to determine the health of the motor, and a control circuit (3a) to control the inverter (3). The control circuit (3a) performs the insulation inspection by generating, between the motor (2) and ground, a surge voltage that exceeds the driving voltage of the motor (2) by adjusting the switching interval for the voltage pulse of the inverter (3) so as to match the round-trip propagation time of the pulse between the inverter (3) and the motor (2), and by generating, between the phases, a surge voltage that exceeds the driving voltage of the motor (2) by adjusting the switching time for each phase of the inverter.
