Abstract:
Provided is an insulator comprising a guard for preventing separation of a coil. When a coil is fitted to this insulator there is no interference between the coil and the guard, and furthermore damage cannot be caused to the insulator when fitting is performed. A method for manufacturing a stator comprising this insulator and the coil is also provided. An insulator (3) which is fitted to teeth (51) of a stator (5) and has a coil (4) formed around the periphery thereof, wherein the insulator (3) comprises: a first separate body (1) which is arranged at the base of the teeth (51) when the insulator (3) is fitted to the teeth (51); and a second separate body (2) which is arranged at the tip end of the teeth to thereby form the insulator (3) by fitting to the first separate body (1). The second separate body (2) comprises a guard (21) to prevent separation of the coil (4) at the end surface of the tip end of the teeth.
