Abstract:
Provided is an insulator configured such that a lower structure member (8) coming in contact with the floor allows an upper structure member (7) whereon a piano (100) is mounted to be suspended by a cantilever spring (9) and a first wire (10) while second wires (11) connect the upper structure member (7) and the lower structure member (8) in the horizontal direction. This allows for a free pendulum-like oscillation with the upper end of the first wire (10) as the fulcrum, which serves so as to maintain the inherent sound created by the piano, thereby allowing the sound to resonant and suppressing transmission of the sound to the floor surface. The oscillation due to the player's operation of a keyboard (3) and a pedal (6) is minimized by the elasticity of the cantilever spring (9) or the tensile force applied to any one of the second wires (11) so that the player does not feel anything wrong with the operation.
