Abstract:
An intake system piping structure for an internal combustion engine is provided with an intake manifold connected to an end-side first cylinder and an end-side second cylinder, the end-side first and second cylinders belonging to a cylinder row in which a plurality of cylinders are arranged and being farthest away from each other; and an intercooler connected to the intake manifold. In the intake system piping structure, the intercooler is disposed such that the intake inlet-side center of the intercooler in the width direction and the manifold-side center of the intercooler in the width direction are offset to the end-side second cylinder side from a cylinder row direction centerline located at the center between the axial center line of the end-side first cylinder and the axial centerline of the end-side second cylinder. Also, in the intake system piping structure, the intercooler is disposed so that the amount of offset of the intake inlet-side center of the intercooler in the width direction from the cylinder row direction centerline is greater than the amount of offset of the manifold-side center of the intercooler in the width direction from the cylinder row direction centerline.
